ST. LOUIS, May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Coal, Inc. announced today that eight outstanding high school graduating seniors were chosen as 2017 Arch Coal Scholars. Each student will receive a $2,000 annual scholarship for up to four years to attend an accredited college or university of their choice.

The Arch Coal Scholars program is open to children of eligible employees of Arch Coal and its subsidiaries. Recipients are selected based on academic record, leadership, and participation in school and community activities. A statement of education and career goals, a work history and an outside appraisal also are included in the application.
